Ana is a foreign trained attorney with an LL.M. Degree in Environmental Law and experience in both law and finance. She focuses on innovative finance, analytical research, water based investment, market development, and water and natural resources law and policy in the western United States.
Ana has always been passionate about water issues and their impact on society, and has worked with organizations such as Waterkeeper Alliance, The UN Water Forum, and Restore America's Estuaries on a variety of water and natural resource issues. She was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, where she later attended law school. Her early career included a judicial clerkship with the Council of State, the highest and supreme court of the Republic of Colombia for Administrative Law, followed by a law firm associate position with Posse Herrera & Ruiz. Later, as a senior associate with Yañez & Asociados, she worked in-house for the largest private E&P company in the country and a U.S.-based private equity firm with international operations.
More recently, Ana worked as a credit analyst for Standard and Poor's and provided consulting services to several non-profit organizations in development and conservation finance. Prior to joining the firm, Ana was Business Manager at First Affirmative, a local Registered Investment Advisor specializing in sustainable, responsible, impact investing, and was the Associate Producer of The SRI Conference, the longest standing investment conference in the industry.
Ana holds a JD degree from Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia and an LL.M Degree in Environmental Law from Tulane University, and is a member of the New York bar. She has also completed continuing and professional studies in credit analysis and accounting.
